11 hikers dead after Indonesia volcano erupts, survivors found

At least 11 hikers were found dead and three others were rescued after the eruption of Mount Marapi, a volcano in western Indonesia. The volcano erupted on Sunday, spewing ash and volcanic debris onto nearby villages. Search teams found the 11 dead near the crater, while three survivors were also found near the volcano. The eruption is ongoing, preventing air evacuations. Some of the rescued hikers suffered burns and required medical treatment. Mount Marapi is on the second alert level, and a three-kilometer exclusion zone has been imposed around its crater.
