A survivor has been rescued from an open-pit copper mine in Zambia nearly a week after landslides trapped dozens of informal miners. The 49-year-old man was found alive in one of the collapsed tunnels at the mine near Chingola. Another body was recovered, but its identity is yet to be determined. More than 30 miners are still believed to be trapped in the rubble and debris. The government has criticized premature statements declaring all miners dead and is focusing on rescue efforts.
