Yemen's warring parties commit to ceasefire steps: UN special envoy

The Saudi-led military coalition, UN peace efforts, and Houthi officials have all played key roles in the Yemen ceasefire negotiations, according to the UN special envoy. The envoy welcomes the commitment of both sides to a nation-wide ceasefire and improving living conditions in Yemen. Additionally, efforts will be made to resume oil exports, pay public sector salaries, open roads, and ease restrictions on Sanaa Airport and the Hudaydah port. The peace initiatives have gained momentum after Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to re-establish ties. The envoy urges all parties to exercise restraint for a successful conclusion of the roadmap agreement.
