The death toll from the explosion at a Chinese-funded nickel-processing plant in Indonesia has risen to 18. The incident has raised concerns about working conditions at Beijing's investment facilities. The explosion occurred during repairs on a furnace when residual slag came in contact with flammable materials. The majority of the victims suffered burns to over 70% of their bodies. This is not the first incident at facilities funded by Chinese companies, raising further concerns about safety.
