Russia launched a drone assault on Ukraine in retaliation for the strikes on Belgorod. Ukrainian Air Force shot down 21 of 49 Russian drones. The retaliatory attack wounded 28 people in Kharkiv, damaging various buildings. Russian troops shelled Kherson, killing a 14-year-old boy. The attack on Belgorod resulted in 24 deaths and 108 injuries, making it the deadliest attack on Russian soil in 22 months. Russian authorities blamed Ukraine for the attack.
