Dangerously cold temperatures continue across US as 2024 presidential race begins in Iowa

An Arctic blast continues to wreak havoc across the United States, causing power outages for numerous customers in northern states and Texas. This extreme weather condition may also impact voter turnout in Iowa, where the first Republican candidate ballots for the upcoming presidential race will be cast in November. The US National Weather Service (NWS) has warned that the dangerously frigid weather will persist throughout the day. The severe weather has resulted in power disruptions for tens of thousands of people in northern states and Texas.
