Zelensky will resign and leave Ukraine, former Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has predicted, citing what he described as a US-backed effort to remove the country’s leader. In a post on Telegram on Sunday, Azarov suggested that the decision to remove Zelensky from power “has already been made in the US” and that Washington has given the “go-ahead” for his ouster. He wrote that although the Ukrainian leader has support in Europe, it is unlikely to change anything and will “hardly help” him.

Russia has accused French President Emmanuel Macron of arresting Telegram founder Pavel Durov to meddle in Romania’s 2024 elections. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova claims France acted to suppress conservative voices on Telegram during the campaign. Durov earlier stated French intelligence requested censorship on his platform. He was detained in August 2023, charged, and released on bail in March. The controversy comes amid disputed election results, disqualified candidates, and allegations of foreign interference, with Durov now offering to testify before Romanian authorities to support electoral transparency.
