Texas GOP Congressman Calls Trump's Border Crisis a 'Myth'
A Republican Congressman calls President Trump’s border crisis a “myth”, reports Rolling Stone.????Texas Representative Will Hurd, whose district includes the border city of El Paso, calls Trump’s call to build a wall, a “third century solution to a 21st century problem.”????In an interview with Rolling Stone, Hurd said “when you think of a crisis, that means people are afraid to leave their homes, right?”????The former CIA agent represents what he says is roughly 820 of the U.S.’s 1,900 mile border with Mexico, said “building a wall from sea to shining sea is the most expensive and least effective way to do border security.”????Hurd says that a border structure makes sense where there isn’t “urban to urban contact” as there is with El Paso and Juarez, Mexico, suggested instead increasing security and improve technology at those points of entry.????With Trump’s border wall demand playing a role in the nation’s longest partial shutdown of the government, Hurd referenced the effects on the Department of Homeland Security and questioned “If there is a crisis, why are the people that are dealing with it not being paid?”
