De Blasio describes Rabbi funeral gathering as 'unacceptable'

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday addressed a report of a large funeral gathering of a rabbi in Brooklyn calling it 'unacceptable.'

"The notion that people would gather in large numbers, and even if they didn't mean to, would spread a disease that would kill other members of the community is just unacceptable to me," the New York City mayor said.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio Tuesday night witnessed hundreds of Orthodox Jewish mourners flooding the sidewalks and intersection of Bedford Avenue and Rutledge Street, honoring the memory of a rabbi who recently died of the novel coronavirus.
