One victim of triple shooting was man in wheelchair, police say

A triple shooting Wednesday afternoon started as a rolling gun battle, Kansas City police said.

One of the victims was a man in a wheelchair authorities said.

All three victims have non-life-threatening injuries.

STARTED AT 40TH ANDPENNSYLVANIA.BEHIND ME, WHERE POLICE ARESTILL ON THE SCENE, THATWHEELCHAIR IS WHERE AN INNOCENTBYSTANDER WAS SHOT.THEY WERE SHOT AS THE GUNFIREBROKE OUT, GOING BETWEEN TWOCARS.TO PEOPLE OTHER SHOT IN THISINCIDENT.OFFICERS WERE IN THIS AREA ONANOTHER CALL WHEN THEY HEARDMULTIPLE SHOTS.THOSE TWO CARS DROVE HALF A MILEWHILE SHOOTING TO THE 900 BLOCKOF WEST 39TH STREET WHERE BOTHCARS THEN CRASHED.THE POLICE FOUND TWO SHOOTINGVICTIMS NEAR WHERE THE CARSCRASHED.ONE OF THEM IS A TEENAGER.BACK HERE WHERE IT STARTED, THATIS WHERE POLICE FOUND THE THIRDVICTIM.THE POLICE ARE STILL ON THESCENE AND HOPING TO SPEAK WITHANYONE WHO WITNESSED OR MIGHTANYONE -- ANYONE WHO MIGHT KNOWANYTHING.THE POLICE SAY THEY HAVEDETAINED ANYONE INVOLVED.
