A lost hiker is back with his family after spending the night lost on the walls of jericho hiking trail.

The jackson county sheriff's office learned a mom, her son in his 20s and her younger daughter were hiking when the son got separated on the trail.

Crews searched through the night - until he was found.

Waay 31's sophia borrelli was there to capture the heartwarming reunion and spoke ti the hiker about his experience through the night.

Vincent graham told us about his night after getting lost after hiking the walls of jericho trail.

Vincent graham, rescued hiker: "no clue if i was going to make it til the next morning.

I was literally sleeping on a water bottle and i woke up this morning and i was laying under this tree.

I had taken off my outer shirt because i had planned on going swimming and wrapped it around me and tucked my arms and my legs inside the shirt like a young kid would, just to keep myself as warm as possible."

Vincent says he heard the helicopter this morning and had hope.

Vincent graham, rescued hiker: "either they are looking for me or something else is going on, because this helicopter keeps flying by."

Nats of helicopter vincent graham, rescued hiker: "so i just started waving and jumping up and down as much as i could."

Back at the trailhead - vincent's mom yvonne graham got the news her son had been found.

Yvonne graham, mother: "when they found him, i just broke down and cried."

She called her husband to tell him the good news.

"they just found him.

They did?

Yes."

Vincent graham, rescued hiker: "i knew that i was going to be found eventually, i just didn't know how soon or later."

A happy reunion - an outcome everyone had hoped for.

He said he was just hungry and sore after the ordeal.

The jackson county sheriff's office wants to remind the public - the walls of jericho hike is not an easy one to do.
