Gandhi statue vandalisation a crime against humanity: India's Envoy to US

Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu has said that the vandalism of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue is a  crime against humanity.

Speaking on the incident, Sandhu said that the Indian side complained to the Metropolitan Police and added that restoration work is on.

He added that the US administration approached Indian authorities for the work and said that it's being done in a very scientific way.

The statue had been vandalised by some unruly elements earlier in the month during protests against the death of George Floyd.
