John harshbarger//andrews town council rese don want them to drink it.

We don want them to cook with it.

They can do their dishes, they can do their laundry.

They can take warm showers but not long hot showers and as we get additional information wel update that.

The problem goes back decades.

An emergency motion filed by the town friday says united technologies caused the contamination and was supposed to fix it.

Or approximatele 27 years, we had some contamination in our ground water and there is an airstripper that is supposed to get all of that contamination out and get it below the allowable mcls.

Mcls are the maximum contaminant levels set by the us environmental protection agency.

But harshbarger says the airstripper recently stopped working and vinyl chloride has again been found in t water system.

E hope to get this soon.

In the meantime wel be providing water for the residents.

With the indiana department of environmental management today so they could test the contamination levels.

After living in the neighborhood for over four decades, yake subd richard widelski says wat r contamination isn new to hhere was .

Coliform bacteria getting into our water systems because every house had their own septic system and every house had their own well.

Says he and his neighbors had to find separate options to purify their water because of costo when we got rid of the septic system we had to have a place to take it and andrews was the closest area to us that would take our waste water and waste material.

Andrews was expereincing contamination again, widelski hope quick he town recoe ry.
