A local healthcare provider is using technology to connect patients and doctors during the coronavirus pandemic

Health care provider is tapping into technology, to better link patients - with doctors - during this coronavirus pandemic.

As i recently learned& feather river tribal health centers has turned a grant from health net& into a tool to make sure one unique local population can zoo* straight to needed care.

I think it's just the first step in moving forward in technology and a new wave of health care that's coming because of covid.

That step?

Offering patients and health care providers a more robuts online - zoom based- telehealth option.

Feather river tribal health now has an upgraded infrastructure system, to make sure patients throughout the region can virtually connect with doctors for medical appointments.of feather river tribal health's roughly 8 thousand oroville area clients, administrators say 40% are native american.

The center's medical director says diabetes is prevalent within the native american community and requires routine medical interaction.

She says the telehealth option also addresses cultural considerations."

Both the oroville and yuba city locations now have upgraded telehealth capabilities.

Administrators say the next challenge - making sure those living in more remote, rural areas with poor internet connectivity, but who need medical care - will be able to zoom connect.
