Farmers continue to burn stubble in Punjab

The farmers continued to burn stubble in Punjab's Verka.

The stubble burning practice every year deteriorates air quality of Punjab and its adjoining states.

A farmer said, "Punjab govt didn't fulfil its promise of compensation of Rs 2500, so we have to burn stubble in strain." Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) had also written to chief secretaries of Punjab, Haryana to control cases of stubble burning.
