State police confirmed one person died in the accident.

A pickup truck and a car collided in herkimer, this morning.

A serious wreck....that we've since learned was deadly.

State police confirm one person has died.

It is your top story.

The crash happened around ten this morning on route five, between route 51 and west german street.

A number of rescue crews responded.

It appears the driver of the pickup truck crossed the median striking the car in the eastbound lane.

At least two ambulances responded.

State police have not released the name of the person who died.... and have not said if anyone else was injured.

The eastbound lanes were shutdown for several hours... but are back open tonight.
