Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan visited Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital to review the dry run for administering COVID-19 vaccine on January 08.
He interacted with doctors and staff.
2nd dry run will be done in 33 states and Union Territories today.
Vaccines Covishield and Covaxin are on the verge of being available in the country.
Veteran BJP leader and Chandini Chowk MP, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, has announced his departure from active politics following alleged denial of a ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. His decision came in response to the Delhi BJP's declaration of candidates for five constituencies, including Praveen Khandelwal in Chandni Chowk, on Saturday. Dr. Vardhan, with a distinguished political career spanning five-time MLA and two-time MP from the constituency, has previously served as Union Minister of Health and Union Environment Minister. In his announcement, he hinted at a return to his profession as an ENT surgeon and expressed intent to resume duties at his clinic in East Delhi's Krishna Nagar

NBC reports that police departments in the United States
have seen their first increase in ranks, changing course
on a historic exodus of officers in recent years.
According to a recent survey,
2023 saw more officers sworn in
than any of the previous four years. .
At the same time, the survey by the Police Executive
Research Forum (PERF) also found that fewer law
enforcement officers resigned or retired in 2023. .

the COVID pandemic and nationwide protests against
police brutality following the death of George Floyd. .

challenging for American policing.

NBC reports that declining numbers left
many police departments with a shortage of
officers, which resulted in slower response times.
Chuck Wexler, executive director of PERF, warns that many police departments are still struggling to recruit and retain officers.
According to Wexler, law enforcement , "isn't out of the woods yet.".
At least a dozen smaller police departments in
the nation have been forced to disband, leaving those
municipalities reliant upon state or county police forces.
