While addressing at an event in Hyderabad on January 23, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, "Nationalism doesn't mean only saying 'Jai Hind' or singing 'Jana Gana Mana' or 'Vande Matram'.
'Jai Hind' means every Indian's 'Jai ho' which is possible when their needs are taken care of, they are fed properly, have clothing and don't face discrimination." "Nation doesn't mean geographical boundaries, everything in the nation, their welfare, is nationalism.
Ours is a glorious civilization which embodies value of share and care.
Our forefathers have given to us philosophy of 'world is one family'," he added.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated 'Pediatric Rare Genetic Disorders Laboratory' at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in Hyderabad's Uppal area. "I'm really impressed with the good amount of work you're doing in the form of research and particularly rare diseases and figure prints itself is an important aspect of life because it helps us to really identify who have committed the crime and DNA of children," said VP Venkaiah Naidu.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu released a book 'Parliamentary Messenger in Rajasthan' in Delhi on February 05.Speaking at the event, Naidu said, "Members of Parliament must be like role models for other public representatives in conduct and criticism. Nowadays, the level of debates sometimes gets undermined and the impression of politicians, particularly public representatives, is going down in eyes of people." The book gives insight into initiatives undertaken through the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) on Dr Abhishek Singhvi's recommendation in Rajasthan.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declined to speak at an event where āJai Shri Ramā slogans were raised in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event was organized to celebrate Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th birth anniversary in Kolkata. Slogans were raised after it was announced that Banerjee would address the programme. āI think a government programme should have some dignity. This is a government programme and not a political party's programme. I am grateful to the Prime Minister, Culture Ministry for organizing an event in Kolkata. But it is not right to invite someone and insult them. In protest, I wonāt speak. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla,ā wrapped up Mamata. BJP leader and Netaji Subhas Chandra Boseās grandnephew condemned Mamataās behavior at the event. He said, āJai Shree Ram isn't a statement where one should react in a very allergic manner. So, I think the honourable Chief Minister (Mamata Banerjee), with due respect to her, need not have reacted adversely to a slogan whether it's Jai Hind or Jai Shree Ram.ā Watch the full video for more.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's grandnephew and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chandra Kumar Bose condemned West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's behaviour after she refused to speak when 'Jai Shree Ram' slogans were raised during the celebrations of 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Victoria Memorial in Kolkata on January 23. He said, "Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose stood for unity. He had people of all communities in Azad Hind Fauj. Whether you say 'Jai Hind' or 'Jai Sri Ram', I don't find difference. 'Jai Sri Ram' isn't a statement where one should react in allergic manner. So, I think the honourable Chief Minister (Mamata Banerjee) need not have reacted adversely to a slogan whether it's 'Jai Hind' or 'Jai Shree Ram'. This is not the day to do any politics. It is a day to celebrate, it is a day to pay homage to the soldiers and martyrs of Indian National Army."
An ex-serviceman, who was a star medal awardee during the India-China war, now drives an autorickshaw in Hyderabad for a living. Sheikh Abdul Kareem, participated in the India-China war and was posted in Lahaul area. He has now urged the government to provide a house to ex-servicemen who fought to defend the country. āDespite winning a good service medal, I have not even received any sort of pension or any financial support from the government. Ex-Army personnel and star medal awardee drives auto rickshaw on Hyderabad streets to earn his bread and butter. Sheik Abdul Kareem received a special award for his contribution in the1971 Indo-China war. During Indira Gandhi reign due to surplus of army personnel, several were removed from their postings. The 71-year-old served in the army for 9 years but now is homeless and is fighting daily for a living. Kareem requested the government for financial support in the form of pension and shelter.
Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on March 2 took the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine in Hyderabad. Reddy, after taking the vaccination waited in the waiting room. Reddy will take another shot of the vaccination after two weeks. Many ministers and chief ministers are expected to take vaccination in this phase of vaccination drive. On March 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi. On March 1, the country has opened immunization for those above 60 years of age and those over 45 who have co-morbidities.
