Uttarakhand glacier burst: ITBP troops distribute ration in Pang village
ITBP personnel provided ration items to Pang village in Pauri Garhwal that has been cut off due to flash flood, in Uttarakhand today.
A glacial broke in the Tapovan-Reni area of Chamoli District of Uttarakhand which led to massive flooding in Dhauliganga and Alaknanda rivers and damaged houses and the nearby Rishiganga power project.
As many as 32 bodies have been recovered so far from different areas hit by the glacier burst.
The Indian Air Force deployed its MI 17 V5 helicopter on Saturday (April 27) to combat the forest fires ravaging the Nainital district in Uttarakhand, as confirmed by the state’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami. Utilising a "Bambi Bucket," the helicopter retrieved water from Bhimtal Lake, situated near Nainital, and discharged it onto the flames engulfing the forests.
