Rishi Sunak has defended backlash from the latest NHS figures which show waiting lists have risen by 330,000 since he promised to cut them, insisting that the government's plan is working. The father of one of the Reading terror attack victims said the families are trusting the judge to make recommendations at the inquest conclusion that will “prevent other families from facing the pain, heartbreak and loss that we must live with every day”. The world's first personalised mRNA cancer jab for melanoma is being tested on British patients. Steve Young, 52, from Stevenage, joined a clinical trial after being diagnosed with the potentially deadly form of skin cancer. Dr Heather Shaw, an investigator for the trial, said the jab had the potential to cure people with melanoma and is being tested in other cancers.
“This is one of the most exciting things we’ve seen in a really long time," she said.

Former Post Office boss Angela van den Bogerd has arrived at the Post Office inquiry on her second day of giving evidence.
