India to release 142 Million as reconstruction assistance for Nepal's Cultural Heritages

In order to reconstruct three Cultural Heritage Projects of Nepal, India on Thursday announced to fund a whopping amount of 142 million to the Himalayan nation.

The agreements were signed for conservation and retrofitting of Seto Machindranath Temple, Construction and conservation of Dharmashalaat Budhanikantha Temple as well as development of Kumari Chhen and Kumari Niwas.

The contractual event was attended by the Head of Development Partnership and Reconstruction Wing of Indian Embassy, Project Consultant INTACH, officials from CLPIU (Building) and other stake holders.

The three projects are part of cultural heritage projects being taken up by the Government of India for post-earthquake conservation and restoration under a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Government of Nepal.

Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has been appointed as the Project Management Consultant for supervising the conservation and retrofitting and construction of these two projects will be working closely with authorities of Government of Nepal.
