'A Day with Company Commander' initiative boosts civil-military relations in Kashmir

With an aim to strengthen and to connect with the next generation of Kashmir, Indian Army organised 'A Day with Company Commander' in Baramulla.

During the event, children of the surrounding areas got an opportunity to visit the Army Camp and experience the life of army personnel.

Games were also organised for children for their entertainment.

The children wholeheartedly participated in all the events with great enthusiasm and vigour.

Children enjoyed the event and expressed gratitude to Army for conducting such an event.

The aim of this outreach program is to make relationship with people and children of Kashmir valley.

The event was organised by 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).

Indian Army frequently organises such events to stop youths to indulge in anti-social activities and to motivate them to join Army.

Free medicines were also distributed during the event.

Mohd Sultan, a Mufti said, "It's a very good environment here. The people who used to come here from different places mostly women have been provided facilities of staying here. I am grateful to the Indian Army who donated Rs 1 lakh."Abdul Hafeez, Sarpanch said, "I am thankful to Indian Army for cooperation and support who had maintained the Peer Baba Dargah." Mohd Shreef, Imaam said, "I am grateful to Indian Army for providing bathroom and water facilities earlier and now the facilities here at Peer Baba Dargah."

Three terrorists gunned down in encounter with security forces in J&K’s Shopian. Security forces engaged in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Hadipora area. Encounter broke out after security forces launched a cordon & search operation. One of the slain terrorists was newly recruited and security forces appealed him to surrender. “Police & security forces made sincere efforts to take surrender of newly recruited #terrorist.
