The residents of Vantangia villages, for the first time are casting their vote for the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat polls which commenced from April 15. These villages were declared revenue village by CM Yogi Adityanath in 2018. Polling of first phase will take place in 18 districts.
Navratri, festival of goddess Durga commenced from April 13 and will end on April 22, witnessed devotees in large numbers at the temples. Morning aarti was performed at Delhi's Jhandewalan temple. In Varanasi, Devotees thronged Durga temple in large numbers to offer prayers on the auspicious occasion of navratri. The festival, which falls during the spring season every year, is considered auspicious among various communities in the country. Navratris always begin with the ritual of Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana. Devotees of the Goddess Supreme Durga, observe a fast for nine consecutive days and pray for health, forgiveness, and prosperity. It also marks the birthday of Lord Rama, which usually falls on the ninth day during the Navratri festivity, and is also known as Rama Navratri.
WhatsApp has rolled out a new sticker pack named 'Vaccines for All' as a piece of the organisation's endeavours towards spreading mindfulness about the COVID-19 vaccine. As per Mashable, these stickers are a mode of allowing users to show their appreciation for healthcare workers around the world. The new sticker pack was created in a joint effort with the World Health Organisation (WHO). To offer verified information on COVID-19, WhatsApp has also joined forces with more than 150 national, state and local governments, as well as organisations including the WHO and UNICEF. The COVID-19 helplines created on WhatsApp have also started offering vaccine information and registration. The new 'Vaccine for All' sticker pack carries 23 particular stickers to WhatsApp, planned in partnership with the WHO.
