Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait took a jibe at the central government while announcing plans to meet cultivators in the state of West Bengal.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson said that since the Union government was going to Kolkata - a reference to the campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections - farmer leaders would also visit the state to hold meetings.
The announcement came a day after protests at Delhi's borders crossed the 100-day mark.
The protesting farmers want 3 recent agri-reform laws repealed.
