Rapping jihadi had "murderous intent" in plotting lockdown attacks
A rapping jihadi has been found guilty of plotting to run amok with an 18-inch sword during the coronavirus lockdown.
Jobless Sahayb Abu, 27, had bought two blades, balaclavas, a camouflage hat and body armour online in readiness for an attack last summer.He was arrested on July 9 after discussing buying a gun from an undercover police officer, who he met on an Islamic State supporters’ Telegram chat group.
An Old Bailey jury deliberated for xxxx to find him guilty of preparing for terrorist acts before his arrest on July 9 last year.
The father of one of the Reading terror attack victims said the families are trusting the judge to make recommendations at the inquest conclusion that will “prevent other families from facing the pain, heartbreak and loss that we must live with every day”. Speaking outside of the Old Bailey on Friday morning, Gary Furlong, the father of James, said: “It is now almost four years since our boys, James, Joseph and David were taken from us in the murderous terror attack by Khairi Saadallah in Forbury Gardens. A woman who was shot dead outside a police station 21 years ago was unlawfully killed, a jury has concluded. Sabina Rizvi was 25 when she was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in March 2003 outside Bexleyheath police station in south-east London. An inquest into Ms Rizvi's death at the Old Bailey has been looking into whether officers at Bexleyheath police station knew that a gangland feud posed a risk to Sabina's life. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taahaa, key suspects in the Bengaluru cafe blast. Muzammil Shareef was also arrested for aiding the blast. Associated with ISIS modules, they were involved in various terror activities. The blast injured nine, emphasizing the urgency of apprehending remaining suspects.
