Attenborugh urges leaders to turn 'tragedy into triumph'

Sir David Attenborough tells the COP26 climate summit that young people can "give us the impetus we need to rewrite our story" and turn the tragedy of climate change into triumph.

The naturalist and broadcaster also urges leaders in Glasgow to be motivated by hope, not fear.

He tells delegates: "In my lifetime I've witnessed a terrible decline.

In yours, you could and should witness a wonderful recovery.

That desperate hope... is why the world is looking to you and why you are here." Report by Avagninag.

Asylum seeker sentenced to life for revenge terror killing

A Moroccan asylum seeker has been sentenced to life in jail for murder, with a minimum term of 45 years, at Teesside Crown Court. In October last year, 45-year-old Ahmed Alid stabbed Iranian Christian convert Javed Nouri at the house he was sharing with other asylum seekers before looking for more victims in Hartlepool town centre. He then stabbed and killed 70-year-old Terence Carney who was out for his regular early morning walk. Alid told police he had committed his crimes out of “revenge” for Israel killing children in the Palestinian conflict. Report by Jonesia.
