Today, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio tweeted that a committee will be formed to look into the withdrawal of the controversial Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in Nagaland, after a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the afternoon.
Overnight, three medium-intensity explosions rocked a bridge in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, causing damage. The blasts occurred close to Sapormeina along National Highway-2, linking Imphal to Dimapur in Nagaland. This incident unfolded just two days prior to the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to take place in certain areas of Outer Manipur. According to a security official, the event transpired around 1:15 am near Sapormeina in Kangpokpi district.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm.
