Boris Johnson and Swedish prime minister Magdalena Andersson have signed an historic security assurance declaration in the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The British prime minister is set to sign a similar declaration with Finland later on Wednesday.
The declarations mean the UK will support both countries should they come under attack.

The Senate overwhelmingly approved the expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) by a vote of 95 to one. .
The vote is considered a strong message to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his order to invade Ukraine.

The leader of Merton Council Ross Garrod says more than 200 residents have been told to leave their homes as a precautionary measure due to a gas leak, as investigations continue into the cause of an explosion and a subsequent house collapse in south London.
