Reuters reports that on July 11, a federal judge declared Subway could be held liable for deceiving customers about its tuna products.

Instead of Subway's advertised "100% tuna," others have claimed the restaurant's product contains chicken, pork, cattle and other kinds of fish.

Subway officials contend the restaurant "serves 100% tuna," lamenting the continuation of the "reckless and improper" lawsuit.

When researchers at UCLA's Barber Lab tested samples of Subway's tuna, .

They reportedly found "no detectable tuna DNA sequences." Instead, lab tests found the DNA of chicken, pork and cattle.
