Greek court questions smuggling suspects over migrant ship disaster, as new survivor accounts emerge
Nine men suspected of crewing a migrant smuggling ship that sank off Greece leaving more than 500 missing appeared in court Tuesday for questioning, as new accounts emerged on the sinking and the appalling conditions on the trip from Libya towards Italy.
Many on the Greek island Milos say they don't care about upcoming European elections as they feel it will have little impact on their daily life, but others want EU officials to do more.

Hamas has been planning to establish a covert base in Turkey and other terror cells to coordinate attacks against Israeli targets, including NATO members, according to a document captured by the IDF in Gaza, reported by The Times. The document, found in the home of a key Hamas leader’s chief of staff, outlines a strategy to create secret bases to bolster resistance forces and conduct intelligence and military operations. The plan includes targeted assassinations, sabotage of Israeli naval vessels, and kidnappings. The Turkish government, supportive of Hamas, labels it a "liberation group." President Erdogan has harshly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, stating his methods would make "Hitler jealous." Erdogan also announced that over 1,000 Hamas members are being treated in Turkish hospitals and expressed disappointment over Greece’s stance that Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Despite public support, Erdogan denies that Hamas conducts terrorist operations from Turkey.

China Raises Flag , on the 'Dark Side' , of the Moon.
'Newsweek' reports that for the first time in human
history, China has begun the process of returning
samples from the "dark side" of the moon to the Earth. .
The Chang'e-6 craft reportedly raised a small Chinese
flag after collecting the samples before ending
its two-day mission on the moon's "dark side.".
It is an impressive
demonstration of Chinese
technological capability, John Logsdon, professor emeritus at the George Washington
University and founder of its Space Policy Institute, via 'Newsweek'.
The "dark side" refers to the hemisphere of
the moon that faces away from the Earth most
of the time due to its synchronous rotation.

that has been explored for over 50 years.".
The Chang'e-6 landed at the moon's
South Pole in the Aitken Basin, one of our
solar system's largest impact craters.
In order to communicate with the spacecraft,
China used the Queqiao-2 relay satellite to transmit
messages to vehicles on either side of the moon.
The probe autonomously used a robotic arm
to drill into the surface and gather the samples. .
'Newsweek' reports that the lander also carried three
research instruments from European space agencies,
including Italy's National Institute for Nuclear Physics.
China's seventh Chang'e mission
is scheduled to take place in 2026.
