Israel is targeting Hamas’ political leaders in Gaza as well as military ones as it seeks to crush the Palestinian group that launched a brutal attack on its civilians last weekend.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has updated the death toll of Palestinians to 1,354 killed and 6,049 injured.

Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz says no basic resources, including electricity and fuel, or humanitarian aid will be allowed into the besieged Gaza until Hamas releases all captives.

Hamas told Al Jazeera that they are in contact with Egypt, Qatar and the UN regarding opening a humanitarian corridor in the besieged Gaza Strip.

What is next for Israel and Palestine?
