A tragic incident occurred in the Kaluga Region as an Mi-28 helicopter crashed during a routine flight, resulting in the death of all crew members on board. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the fatal crash and assured that no damage was caused on the ground. The helicopter went down in a forested area near the village of Klenki, within the Zhizdrinsky District, approximately 150 kilometres (93 miles) from the Ukrainian border. Head of the Zhizdrinsky District Alexander Barybin provided this information, highlighting that the crash site is relatively remote.

Russian forces have made significant progress in the villages of Evgenovka, Novgorodskoye, Timofeeva, Sokol, and Toretsk, repelling five Ukrainian counterattacks in the region. Since capturing the town of Avdeevka in February, a major Ukrainian stronghold near Donetsk, Russian forces have reduced Kyiv troops' ability to shell the city and have steadily advanced in the DPR and other areas, including Ukraine's Kharkiv region, taking control of several settlements.
