A deadly monsoon wave has claimed at least 69 lives in Himachal Pradesh in just two weeks, as torrential rains wreak havoc across North and Central India. Over 240 roads have been completely blocked due to massive landslides, with Mandi district alone accounting for 176 road closures. The India Meteorological Department has issued a Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Kangra, Mandi, and Sirmaur districts. Authorities are on high alert as flash floods, mudslides, and collapsing infrastructure turn the region into a disaster zone. Emergency teams are scrambling to restore access and prevent further casualties as the relentless downpour continues. Visuals from the ground show vehicles swept away, homes crumbling, and terrified locals braving the devastation. With more rain forecasted, the death toll is feared to rise. This is shaping into one of the worst monsoon disasters in years.
