Pursglove: Tory chair will reflect on social media post
Legal Migration Minister Tom Pursglove says the Conservative chairman will reflect on the response to a post shared by the party's social media account in which it compared Labour's immigation policy to a picture of BBC anchor Maryam Moshiri.

Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves has accused Rishi Sunak of lying about Labour's tax plans in his first TV debate against Sir Keir Starmer as she revealed the party has "no plans to increase taxes on working people." The truth is it's the Conservatives who have taken the tax burden to the highest it's been in seventy years."

Rishi Sunak has unveiled the Conservative campaign bus in Teesside during his tour of the North East. In a speech in front of the blue coach, the Prime Minister sought to draw dividing lines with Labour. Shadow defence secretary John Healey has ruled out raising taxes on working people. It comes as Rishi Sunak accused Labour of increasing taxes by £2,000 per family should they get into government. "We will not be raising income tax or VAT or national insurance - these are the things that count most as people are trying to manage their work income and family budgets," Mr Healey said.
