Israeli airstrike on Gaza City's Wafa hospital kills seven people
The strike hit the upper floor of the hospital on Sunday, killing at least seven people and wounding several others, according to the Palestinian Civil Defence.
The families of Israeli hostages Maxim Herkin and Bar Kuperstein have authorized the release of a deeply unsettling video snippet originally published by Hamas in April. This 44-second clip shows the two men, visibly distressed and pleading for their lives, as part of a strategic push by the families to secure a comprehensive hostage return deal with Hamas, rather than partial agreements. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum has condemned what it calls "cruel selections," demanding the return of all hostages.

Amal, a 7-year-old girl, is wasting away after months with only the bare minimum of food. Her parents took her to the Nasser hospital in Gaza hoping doctors could help, but an aid blockade has left them with few supplies. There is water to hydrate her, but no food formula or medicines to give her back some strength. Dr Ahmad Al-Farra, the head of paediatrics at Nasser Hospital, says Amal is "one of the most serious cases in our nutrition department", having lost nearly 50% of her weight. At this hospital alone more than sixty children have died due to starvation.
