In a brazen daylight attack, two close aides of Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada were gunned down on a busy street, sending shockwaves through the capital. The victims — Ximena Guzman, Brugada’s personal secretary, and Jose Muñoz, an adviser — were ambushed by motorcycle-riding gunmen, according to President Claudia Sheinbaum. The attack, which occurred in central Mexico City, is the latest in a string of violent assaults targeting public officials.
