South Korea's conservative party names former labour minister Kim Moon-soo as its candidate for June's snap election to replace former president Yoon Suk Yeol, who was ousted over his martial law declaration.

"If we fail to stop the dictatorship of the Democratic Party, liberal democracy will collapse, and the future of Korea will be shrouded in darkness," the 73-year-old says in his acceptance speech.
