The shadow business minister has claimed the government has "lost control" as record numbers of migrants crossed the channel this weekend.

More than 1,100 migrants arrived in the UK after crossing the English Channel on Saturday, the highest number recorded so far in 2025.

Andrew Griffith urged the home secretary Yvette Cooper to address the problem alongside her French counterparts.
