Megadeth announces final album and farewell tour The Grammy-winning metal band reveals that their next studio album, set for release in early 2026, will be their last.

They will also embark on a global farewell tour in 2026.

This announcement followed a teaser post from the band that read "The end is near...".

Megadeth was formed by Dave Mustaine in 1983 and became a part of the "Big Four" of thrash metal selling over 50 million records worldwide.

Pre-orders for their 17th and final record is scheduled to begin on September 25, 2025, on the band's official website.

The first single from the album is anticipated to drop this fall.

In addition to the album and tour, Mustaine also plans to release a memoir in 2026.
