Startup woes: Funding drops by $1.2 billion from last March

Private equity and venture capital investments in March 2024 dropped by $1.2 billion to $1.8 billion across 64 deals, contrasting the previous upward trend. Top investments included $500 million by GIC in a joint venture with Sterlite Power Transmission and $233 million by Advent International & Multiples in Svatantra Microfin. Total deals from Jan-Mar decreased to 205 from 242 in 2023, with a total investment of $6.3 billion.
