Newcastle United fans line the streets to mark club's historic cup win
Saturday, 29 March 2025 Hundreds of thousands of joyous Newcastle United fans gathered in the city to celebrate the team's Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool.
Newcastle becomes a sea of black and white as 150,000 fans line the city's streets to celebrate the Magpies' League Cup success with an open top bus parade. A 2-1 victory over Liverpool on March 16 saw Newcastle win their first major trophy since 1969 and first domestic cup for 70 years.

The funeral proceedings of the late football players Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva took place in the church of Gondomar in their hometown in the east of Porto. Family members, teammates and coaches joined thousands of mourners to pay their final respects to the Silva brothers.
