Chancellor announces new winter fuel eligibility for pensioners
Monday, 9 June 2025 () Winter fuel payments will extend to everyone over the state pension age with an income of or below £35,000 a year, Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced.
Martin Lewis said the government's decision to U-turn the winter fuel payment is a "huge relief" for pensioners. Rachel Reeves confirmed on Monday that pensioners earning less than £35k will be eligible to claim winter fuel payments this coming winter.
