Team of 3 women retired HC judges to oversee relief in Manipur: Supreme Court
Monday, 7 August 2023 The Supreme Court on Monday said it will constitute a team of three former high court judges – led by former J&K chief justice Gita Mittal – to oversee relief, rehabilitation and rebuilding measures in strife-torn Manipur. Supervision of other criminal cases, excluding the 12 heinous cases referred to CBI, by 42 state police SITs would be supervised by ex-Maharashtra DGP Dattatray Padsalgikar who would periodically report to the SC.

This is the first time that they have attacked the forces, none of the militants of Meiteis or Kukis attacked the forces as the forces are here to maintain peace and that is how we are in the middle of both communities. They call these forces (paramilitary) neutral forces... Earlier, you might have seen that the groups are attacking the national infrastructure like the roads and towers. Now, they are attacking central forces. How can this be tolerated?..."
