Gehlot power sop puts Rs 2,500cr burden on Rajasthan

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot announced Thursday the abolition of fuel surcharge for all domestic and agricultural electricity consumers, irrespective of the units consumed. "This will put an extra burden of Rs 2,500 crore, which will be borne by the state government," Gehlot said about the waiver, among the slew of recent sops he has declared ahead of assembly polls due later this year.
