There have been other instances of problems in the ageing aircraft, which the Canadian government is in the process of replacing.
Canada's intelligence agency revealed Chinese government interference in the 2019 and 2021 elections, aiming to support certain candidates. The interference, reported to the Prime Minister's Office, implicated multiple parties and targeted specific individuals. Despite concerns raised, the Foreign Interference Task Force concluded it didn't impact election outcomes. Prime Minister Trudeau and officials were briefed multiple times on foreign influence threats.
