Soldier, terrorist killed in J&K action; Army dog dies shielding handler
Tuesday, 12 September 2023 A soldier and an Army dog were killed in action while pursuing terrorists in J&K's Rajouri. The gunfight took place in a forested area after a raid on the terrorist hideout. The soldier's identity is unknown, but the Army confirmed that the six-year-old Labrador Retriever named Kent was fatally shot while protecting her handler. Three other security personnel were wounded in the retaliatory firing.
As tributes began to pour in for Kent, the Army dog who sacrificed her life to protect her handler during a terrorist encounter, the Indian army also remembered its hero canine with a video.
