Woman sues bakery as spoilt cake ruins son’s b’day, wins Rs 6k

May 1, 2022 was a special day for Thyagarajanagar resident Pooja Shankar as she’d planned a grand birthday bash for her younger son. On April 30, she visited a bakery on DVG Road, Basavanagudi, south Bengaluru, and placed an order for a special black forest cake weighing 3.2kg by paying an advance of Rs 1,000. Clearing the balance of Rs 2,590 on the D-Day, the excited mom took the cake home, but little did she know a bitter experience was in store.
