Given ‘phenyl’ instead of vitamin, infant dies in Ahmedabad hospital

The parents of an 11-month-old infant in Ahmedabad were shocked when their child began foaming at the mouth after being given phenyl instead of vitamin syrup by a nurse. The police have taken a complaint and are conducting an inquiry. If negligence is found, a case will be registered against the hospital staff or doctor involved. The bottle of medicine has been sent for forensic analysis. The hospital has faced previous complaints of negligence in the past.
