Mumbai metro gets 8km underground trial run, services by year-end

The first long-distance trial of Mumbai's Metro 3 underground corridor was successfully conducted, covering a distance of around 17km. The trial showcased the completion of infrastructure work, including tracks, power lines, rolling stock, and platform screen doors. The Metro authorities plan to start services by the end of the year on the Aarey-BKC section, with a travel time of 25 minutes. The trains are equipped with a regenerative braking system to reduce carbon emissions.
