Puri temple to bar 'indecently clad' devotees from next year
Tuesday, 10 October 2023 Starting from January 1, 2024, the Jagannath Temple in Puri, India, will not allow individuals wearing ripped jeans, sleeveless shirts, or indecent attire to enter, according to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). While there is no official dress code, the SJTA is urging devotees to wear appropriate and respectful clothing while visiting the temple. The chief administrator of the SJTA stated that fashionable attire, including ripped jeans and sleeveless outfits, is disrespectful to the holy place. The temple administration plans to raise awareness among devotees and promote a spiritual atmosphere within the temple.
